Yamaha Model DGB1K-E3 Disklavier Grand in like-new condition. Only 5 years old. Serial #J3259188. Purchased new locally in December 2016.
Gloss Ebony (black) finish. With Yamaha Disklavier E3 player mechanism.
This lovely little player grand has an amazingly big sound for its size (really sounds like a considerably larger grand), and is in like-new condition. Has been lovingly cared for, and tuned and serviced regularly.
This is the E3 player system, which is the predecessor to the latest "Enspire" system. Unlike the "stripped down" similarly priced newer ENCL model of this piano with the "Enspire" system, the E3 system actually has the "record" function so you can play a piece on the keyboard and the piano will record it and play it back. (This feature is missing on the newer Enspire ENCL model of this piano. You can get the record feature on the more expensive ENST Model but it will cost you 3-4K more for that model, up to 28K.)
Also, unlike the "Classic" (stripped down) E3 model, this model piano has the full complement of pedal sensors and solenoids, so that the record mechanism will also record all of your pedaling, and also actuate the pedals upon playback. The "Classic" E3 version only has a sensor on the damper pedal, and no actuator solenoids for any of the pedals. This model also has a better quality bench than the "Classic" E3 version, and has two powered monitor speakers instead of only one.
The E3 system on this piano also has many of the other up-to-date features that you will find in the more expensive Disklavier models: Internet Direct Connection, for Internet live-streaming of Yamaha Disklavier Radio, and for direct updating of your software; the ability to play all the different types of Yamaha PianoSoft CD's, including Piano Soft Plus, PianoSoft Audio Plus, and Smart PianoSoft CD's - so you can have not only piano concerts, but ensemble and piano, and also piano and ensemble with vocals. It really is pretty amazing all things this piano can do. Record your performances to the internal memory, or to a USB flash drive plugged into the control unit.
One of the amazing things about this piano is that it not only has all these nice Disklavier player features, but it actually has the the sound (and the bass sound) of a much larger instrument: It actually sounds like you are playing a considerably larger grand, -like a 6 or 7 footer. Yet it is still small enough to fit in a tight space. (And economical enough to fit on a tight budget.) And, it has that legendary precise and responsive Yamaha action. The Yamaha engineers really did a nice job of design on this model.
All these features combine to make a piano that is an amazing value. No wonder this has been one of Yamaha's best-selling Disklavier models. The latest version of this model ("Enspire" ENCL, -but with playback only, no record) sells new for 24K. And yes, you can get the newer model with the record feature if you want, but that's a different model (the ENST) and you will pay up to 28K for it.
Comes with matching bench, caster cups, key cover felt, remote control, two (not just one, but two) Yamaha MSP-3 powered monitor speakers (installed underneath the piano for the PianoSoft audio CD's) a number of sampler PianoSoft CD's so you can try sample songs of all the different types of PianoSoft Discs, polishing mitt, owners manual, quick reference guide, and other helpful guides.
