This is a fine piano, well-regulated and voiced, in nearly-new condition, including a matching, cushioned, adjustable bench. It has a sweet, rich timbre and big dynamic range. The touch is precise and easily controlled at even the lowest dynamic levels.
This piano was made in Poland by a branch of Schimmel, one of the top German piano makers. At the start of Polish production they used the named "Vogel" ("bird" in German) that you can see on the fallboard. The Polish pianos are now designated “Wilhelm Schimmel”. These instruments cost 1/3 less than wholly German-made pianos of the same size. However, the quality is high, including German-made Renner action parts. The current model 180 (3cm longer than the 177) costs about $35,000, discounted, in the U.S. At $12,500 this model 177T is a very good value and much better musically than nearly any other piano at this price. Our price includes ground-floor delivery within 50 miles, climate control system, bench, and one onsite tuning. It can be played in the Flynn Pianos workshop showroom in Great Barrington, MA.
