This 6'4", ornate Louis XVI Knabe grand piano in ribbon mahogany is a very special find. We estimate the date of manufacture as sometime between 1920 and 1931, when Ampico players were being made. We were unable to find a serial number anywhere on the instrument. The player mechanism had been removed when the piano was purchased by the current owner in 1980. At that time, the case was refinished and the keytops and strings were replaced. In July, 2021 new keytops were installed and the piano was tuned to A-440. Everything else on the piano is original, and it is beautiful! The hammers are only lightly grooved and the tone is excellent. The action is not heavy, unlike some former player pianos. All this piano needs is a new home.
