Listed is an immaculate Blüthner grand piano in superb condition. It was built just before World War I, in 1912–1913, and you’d think this century-old piano would be at the end of its life. On the contrary, it was expertly rebuilt, with new strings, new hammers, new felts, and a completely re-done action. It is in like-new, completely playable condition, tuned to concert pitch. The bass is growling, something rare for a piano of this class, and the treble is sparkling. This Blüthner has the signature Aliquot Strings; the upper register of the piano actually has four strings per note! The hammer strikes 3, and the 4th is left to vibrate, causing inimitable tonal colors.

The metal plate is hand painted. If you look closely, you’ll actually see two distinct gold colors. This is the original plate; not a reproduction!
The music desk is original, and has very intricate filigree. They do not make music desks like this anymore.
The action is light and fast. It’s actually Blüthner’s patent action design, which some technicians revere for its simplicity and for its speediness. It’s suitable for all styles of music, from Bach to Liszt.
The finish is immaculate. There are no defects even under bright light.
The piano has been in a temperature AND humidity controlled environment, at a perfect 45% RH. The tuning on this piano is extraordinarily stable.
It’s a rarity to have such a historic piano that operates to modern standards. Please reach out with any questions you might have.
