This Dakota Jackson Tri-Centennial Model A is an extremely rare find, #150 of only 300 limited edition pianos built for the world market. While the cabinetry was manufactured in New York, the "instrument" was built in Hamburg, Germany with different characteristics of its New York cousin; with technicians and professional pianists admiring the German workmanship and quality control. As one high end, concert piano technician stated "The Hamburg Steinway is everything the New York Steinway would like to be...the touch and tone are more consistent, the piano is more easily tuned and voiced and more likely to stay in good voice for a longer period of time. As their fit and finish tolerances are closer, there is less to do when a technical or artistic issue presents itself."
Along with beautiful furniture design, this is an incredible instrument. Literally at one's fingertips, this piano delivers a wonderful combination of rich warm, subtle and powerful sound and performance that is rarely experienced or enjoyed with lesser instruments. It has truly amazed and surprised those who have tinkled its ivories and given pleasure to those being entertained.
The cabinetry is crafted in the most gorgeous ebony polish finish, with mahogany and ebony satin accents. Its curved lid prop, sleek music desk and unique three-part lid design evokes a fluidity not found in any other piano. Even the leg and pedal lyre design add a unique visual dimension to this elegant furniture piece.
The piano is a single-owner instrument and comes with the matching designer bench.
