This piano was manufactured in Braunschweig, Germany in the year 1882 bearing the serial number 4925. It piano was refurbished in 2020 by Steffes and Schulz of Eisenberg, Germany. They went through great lengths to keep the heritage alive of this masterful work of art.
In the refurbishing process they reglazed the plate, replaced all of the necessary action parts, replaced all the felts along with all of the hammers, shanks and flanges, replaced the strings and completely refinished the outside. The music desk alone will show you the great details and lengths they went to.
The piano plays and sounds as lovely as it looks. Naturally, the sound is very sweet like modern Grotrians but, because of the year of production they kept the tradition of the era. The tone is very European and it is obvious that the process was done with much love and care.
If you are looking for a European piano of this size and caliber then look no further. This is it.
