This piano is exactly as you see it. It has a beautiful, warm, rich tone. Even top to bottom. Good action. It is a six foot Baldwin Grand with a Mahogany veneer. Minor cosmetic flaws. I was a professional opera singer for over 25 years, and have been using my beloved Baldwin for teaching classical voice lessons and performances for Manhattan School of Music in New York since the 1970's.
About Baldwin Pianos:
Toward the middle end of the nineteenth century, Baldwin piano established itself arguably as the most successful of the American piano makers. If you haven’t heard this instrument, it has a full rich sound... particularly in the bass and clear as a bell in the treble. Some of the most famous musicians in the twentieth century played exclusively on the Baldwin. Composers Leonard Bernstein, Benjamin Britten, Aaron Copland, John Green and Igor Stravinsky. Conductors Thomas Beecham, Charles Munch and Georg Solti. Singers Jussi Bjorling, Ezio Pinza and Richard Tucker. Pianists Count Basie, Claudia Arrau, Eddie Duchin, Josef and Rosina Lhevinne, Adele Marcus, Walter Gieseking and Jose Iturbi. These artists are just a small sample of musicians who were devoted to Baldwin.
