Looking for a very special buyer, someone who appreciates the superior craftsmanship of a Knabe as well as its wonderful characteristic tone. This 1915 Baltimore series grand piano, with original bench, was fully restored in 2013, tuned annually and rarely played. All action parts were meticulously regulated and hammers voiced by a master technician. We would invite any serious potential buyer to please come play it. Similar models seen elsewhere range from $20,000 to $30,000.
PROFESSIONALLY APPRAISED: 2/6/2020
“It’s tricky finding good similar comps for this piano. The 5’8” model is, to my mind, one of the better sized pianos – vis-à-vis the tradeoff between space requirements and performance: big, solid tone without taking up the space of the larger Parlor Grands but sounding just as good.”
“I think it’s worth every bit of your asking price when one compares it to what you might find in the way of a newer piano of the same size and performance in a Piano Shop. A new Yamaha or Kawai in the 5’8’’ range will run you into the $30ks and not sound half as sweet and nice as your piano.”
“For all intents and purposes, your piano, after its refurb, is pretty close to “new,” is very much like a 7 year old piano and will last for generations (with upkeep and additional work, just like any piano).”
