The main case structure and beam system is intact. Case as seen in very good condition for age. Gloss
ebony polyester finish, no major blemishes or chip, cracks evident. All case hardware intact.
All major structural components are all original. The soundboard is in excellent condition, no signs of any cracks visible. Both the treble and bass bridges in excellent condition as well. The pinblock is also in excellent condition, piano is very close to A=440 pitch and in good tune. Strings original, good overall tone, even across the scale.
Action is all original. The action shows slight to moderate wear and tear from playing, mainly the hammer felts. They show obvious string cuts, and would need resurfacing soon to maintain shape and tone. All hammer butt flanges have been replaced with new parts, to eliminate the possibility of the flange spring cords breaking. It is common in Yamahas of this age to have problems with these, and parts replacement is the best option. Other
than the aforementioned hammers, action is in good condition. Regulation is good, playability good.
Keytops are all original, in very good condition for age, no serious defects (cracks, chips) present, color is good. Original sharps also in satisfactory condition. Trapwork intact, function normal.
