This piano looks good, plays well, and sounds like a Steinway model M should -- full tone from bottom to top and big dynamic range. It has had significant improvements performed over the past 20 years. The piano was refinished, keys recovered and harp restrung around 1999. In 2004 the action was rebuilt with Steinway parts. There are some minor cosmetic flaws. The original soundboard has good crown and one long split of no musical significance that could be easily fastened to the ribs to obviate any potential noise that might develop. The bridge caps are very good, with only minor splits in the bass. The large replacement tuning pins are snug and the tuning is stable. There is a climate control system installed beneath the soundboard. Overall, this is a strong piano that could serve well for decades if maintained properly.
